The Amalfi Coast is possible as a private day trip from Rome, but it is a long journey and should be described honestly. An early start and a focused route provide the best experience.
Positano can be the principal destination, with another stop selected only when traffic, seasonal conditions and the confirmed schedule allow. Guests wanting several towns or a slower pace should consider an overnight itinerary.
