Begin with the historic town, from the area around the fortress to Piazza del Popolo and the streets that connect them. The changing views are part of the walk: tiled roofs, the clock tower and hills beyond the buildings. Choose the pace that suits you. Paid access to fortress ramparts, a museum or a licensed walking guide can be arranged separately if you would like to explore further.

Brunello: meet the vineyard and the wine

A tasting gives the day its wine focus.

Discover the details

A tasting gives the day its wine focus. Brunello di Montalcino is made from Sangiovese; Rosso di Montalcino offers another expression of the same territory. Tell us what you enjoy and how deeply you would like to explore. We select an estate appointment around those interests, with the producer, language, wines and visit format agreed before booking. Vineyard or cellar access depends on the confirmed experience.

Leave room for lunch, with the venue chosen to fit the town visit and winery appointment. Local cheeses, cured meats, olive oil and seasonal cooking offer a different way to discover Montalcino’s countryside. Tell us about dietary needs or a preference for a lighter meal. A restaurant lunch or a winery food pairing is selected and quoted separately, with the menu confirmed for your day.

Tuscany · The Italian collection

Meet the place behind the Brunello.

The road into Montalcino is part of the experience: hills, vines and olive groves, then a town gathered beneath its fortress. Here wine has a landscape, a history and the people who make it. Our private day brings those elements together, balancing a walk through the historic centre with one carefully planned tasting. Leave time to ask questions, look beyond the glass and enjoy the Tuscan table before the return to Rome.

Choose the tasting that interests you

Choose the tasting that interests you

An introduction to Brunello, a comparison with Rosso, or a more focused tasting: begin with the kind of experience you want. One well-chosen appointment leaves time for the town and lunch. Additional estates or longer wine experiences require their own route and schedule; we discuss the balance before confirming your journey.

The producer and tasting are confirmed before booking. Tasting fees, meals and food pairings are itemised separately in the proposal.

Plan your Montalcino wine day

Share your date, group size, Rome pickup address and wine interests. Roma Limo Services prepares the private transport proposal and the requested tasting arrangements. The written confirmation identifies the estate, appointment, schedule, included services and separate costs. The published vehicle rates include VAT.

Your private transport proposal

  • Private vehicle and chauffeur for the agreed route
  • Pickup and return at the confirmed Rome addresses
  • A planned sequence for Montalcino, one agreed wine appointment and a lunch break

Your selected local experiences

  • Estate visits, wine tastings and any food pairing
  • Restaurant lunch and other food experiences
  • Licensed local guides, museum admissions and paid fortress access

Local experiences are selected and quoted separately unless explicitly included in your written proposal. Wine purchases are optional.

Departure, return & tasting appointments

This is a full day from Rome with an early departure. We agree the schedule from your exact pickup address and the winery appointment, allowing time for the town, lunch and return. The order of visits may change to suit the confirmed tasting. Traffic can affect the return; no fixed timetable is promised before the itinerary is agreed.

Walking, slopes & winery access

Montalcino has sloping streets, uneven paving and possible steps. Cellars and estate paths can have their own access requirements. Share mobility needs before booking so we can select suitable meeting points, a manageable walk and an appropriate tasting venue. Vehicle access to historic streets follows local restrictions.

Before you choose your day

Can we start and finish in Rome?

Yes. The day is designed around your confirmed Rome pickup and return addresses, with the final schedule agreed before booking.

Which winery will we visit?

The estate is selected around your interests, date, language and availability. The appointment, tasting format, wines and costs are confirmed in the written proposal; no named producer is automatically included.

Are the wine tasting and lunch included?

They are selected and quoted separately unless the written proposal explicitly includes them. Your confirmation lists the transport, tasting, meal and any other requested services.

Can we visit more than one winery?

Ask us to explore a different balance for the day. A second appointment or longer tasting may mean less time in the town or a different schedule; it is agreed before booking.

Can someone join without drinking wine?

Yes. Tell us when planning so we can check the estate’s arrangements and any alternative tasting format or fees. The town, views and lunch remain part of the proposed day.

Is the chauffeur our walking guide or sommelier?

Private transport, licensed walking tours and specialist wine interpretation are separate services. Request a local guide or a specialist tasting host when planning the journey.
